Makers of Tissot sign deal with fencers

Swiss Timing, the company that makes Tissot Watchers has recently signed a new four-year contract rendering them the official sponsors of the Qatar Fencing Federation, the official governing board of Olympic fencing.This important signing appropriately took place with the start of the 2010 Qatar Fencing Grand Prix, where some of the world’s top fencers appear in action. Between the male and female leagues, there were some 250 fencers who played in the event.
The QFF sees the event this year as the test on their organization to see whether or not they can successfully win the bid for the 2013 World Fencing Championships, the most prestigious event in the fencing sport industry.

The QFF said that Tissot has been with them since they began their competitions six years ago and that his organization is very happy to welcome them as the official sponsors for the next four years. He said their help in the past is much appreciated and they look forward to having them on board for some more time.
The 2010 Qatar Fencing Grand Prix included contenders from all over the world, with the leading recipients of medals being China, France and Switzerland.
The QFF was founded in 1913 in Paris, France and has since relocated to Lausanne, Switzerland.
