Swarovski Launches Luxury Watch

Swarovski, the Austrian crystal maker, is practically a household word. This producer of fine crystal was founded in 1895 and for 114 years has been supplying jewelers and fashion designers with crystals to adorn their luxury goods.
So, it’s really no surprise that Swarovski has finally come out with its own luxury watch collection called the Swaorvksi Octea Sport. These are women’s watches and are truly beautiful and some say are similar in design the Chanel J12 line. They measure 39mm wide and are light-weight, attractive and functional. Being sports watches, they mix beauty and sportiness perfectly. The best part? Well that the Octea Sport is full of Swarovski crystals; from the face to the strap, this watch shimmers. The other good part? These watches are not crazy expensive… hello, the beauty of using crystals instead of diamonds! The price ranges from about $800 – $850.
The Octea line features the Sport, the Mini and the Lady. The Octea Sport comes in three colors: white, black and prune, the last choice of name isn’t the greatest, but the color really is, more of a deep purple; a unique color for watches. The collection first debuted at BaselWorld in March of 2009 and has been well-received and become quite popular among watch enthusiasts. Those who have seen the collection have dubbed it by many who have seen it as “the right collection for the right time.”
The Octea line of watches is both functional and elegant. The cut of crystals used and the way they are set illuminate light, while the stainless steel cases reflect the light from the crystals. The watch has a unidirectional rotating bezel, and the crown bears the signature metallic Swaorvksi Swan on a lacquer base.
