Michelle Wie: Ambassador for Omega Watches

If you’re a fan of golf or Omega watches, then you’ll surely know 20 year old American golf pro Michelle Wie. At the age of ten, Wie became the youngest player ever to qualify for a USGA amateur championship, and is also the youngest ever to win the US Women’s Amateur Public Links.
In 2005 at the age of 15, she turned pro and in 2006 she became an Omega Ambassador.
Michelle just won her first professional golf trophy and looked a lot like Tiger Woods, also an Ambassador for Omega watches, when receiving the trophy; dressed in red and decked out with Nike logos (another brand that she endorses.)
This recent win in Mexico last weekend will hopefully spark interest in the LPGA Tour (Ladies Professional Golf Association) which suffers from a lack of interest and sponsorships as compared to the PGA Tour.
As for Michelle, she has done well for herself. She ranked fifth on Forbes magazine’s 2008 list of highest- paid female athletes with $12 million worth of agreements.
On the Omega website, she is described as “with her talent and dedication to performance, Michelle Wie has a promising future ahead of her. Combining feminine grace with power and technique, she is representative of the new generation of golfers.”
The Omega women’s watch that Michelle favors is the Speedmaster Automatic in white / steel or red/ steel (as pictured). This women’s luxury watch has a case that measures 35.5mm and is made from stainless steel with a white mother-of-pearl dial. The strap is leather and there are diamonds circling the bezel, making this a gorgeous jewelry watch. It is a self-winding chronograph that runs on the Omega 3220 caliber and has a power reserve of 40 hours. The crystal is domed and scratch-resistant and the watch is water resistant to 100 meters (330 feet).
