Movado Watches Get Funky

Maybe you’re too young to have come of age during the 60’s and the 70’s but surely your parents dabbled in what was known as the “hippie generation”. If that’s the case, you’ve heard the stories, I know I have; I was almost named “Moon Beam”. Eesh.
Movado wants to bring back this “psychedelic” feeling with a new collection of watches called the Artists’ Series watches. The Artists’ Series idea started in 1987 and now Movado has chosen artist Kenny Scharf for its new collection for this series.
Artist Kenny Scharf is the one responsible for these groovy new looks. He was a kid growing up during the 60’s and 70’s and has seemingly taken his memories and the stories he’s heard and turned them into pop art; art which is now displayed on a limited series of Movado watches.
These new watches are totally different from the typical Movado watch as we know it. Known for their consistent classic look, the blank dial with one, single dot at the 12 o’clock position; these new Scharf-inspired timepieces display some serious funkiness.
Six of Sharf’s paintings have been minimized to fit on the face of only 125 Movado timepieces for each model. Each watch will go for $695 each, while a full set will sell for $3,495. Each watch comes with a stainless steel case; you also get two leather straps, one that’s a more traditional color and one that plays off the colors of art on the dial.
If you’re feelin’ groovy, check out this new collection and get that lovin’ feeling all over again.
