A recent exhibition at the Foundation Cartier showcased the works of Patti Smith. Smith, a powerful artist and performer will feature pieces of from her lyrical and spiritual world to the public. Cartier’s deep love and respect for art is the brainchild behind the exhibition, but Patti and her wide variety of work will take center stage. A short film will be produced by Smith, giving thanks and in honor of this gesture by the Foundation Cartier. The projects being presented are drawings and photographs, as well as unsung lyrics written by Smith. The show, appropriately named, Nomadic Nights will be produced by Smith and will include solo performances by her, in addition to some poetic readings. In compliment to the exhibition, Cartier’s bookshop will be transformed into Patti Smith’s library, being filled with her choices of books, CD’s, and videos. This expansion to the exhibition will give a deeper knowledge of Patti’s unique talent and personality. Cartier invites you to get to know Patti Smith, by including many of her personal possessions in this show…items with deep meaning and importance. Getting this glimpse into the life of such a diverse and talented individual is a rare treat. Cartier Foundation hopes you take advantage.
