Authentic Watches, What’s The Difference?

Authentic watches should have several features that distinguish them. First, I believe, truly authentic watches should be real. If you’re purchasing a Cartier, Rolex, Tissot, or Omega…they should be the genuine article. There are numerous ways of detecting a fake, and it is always wise to be skeptical, especially when making on-line purchases. Get to know your watch brand and research the signature features each watchmaker builds into their designs, in order to make the copying of them more difficult.
Another thing you might look at when considering an authentic watch is the heritage and quality that the brand personifies. To me, authentic means true, long-standing craftsmanship and reputation. Let’s take Cartier, for example.
Cartier makes real authentic watches and has since the beginning. One of my favorite authentic Cartier’s is the ever-classic Tank. Since 1917, Cartier’s Tank women’s watch has exuded elegance and grace. This lovely timepiece comes in a variety of combinations, from stainless-steel to 18 carat rose-gold, ranging in price from around $3,000 all the way up to over $30,000. The Tank’s look is unmistakably Cartier, and whichever version you decide on…rest assured, it will be authentic.
Whether authentic, to you, means all Swiss-made, or name brand, or just real…it’s up to you to make sure you’re not disappointed. Decide what you want, do your homework, and enjoy your authentic watch.
